Applications are now open for GE Girls , a free one week summer program for rising 7th and 8th grade girls from Boston. GE Girls is sponsored by General Electric and is an academic day program designed to encourage girls to explore the world of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), and STEM-based careers.
Each day from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, students participate in hands-on activities that include problem solving, study, research, writing and communication skills. The program will take place on the Northeastern campus [360 Huntington Avenue in Boston, MA 02115] with multiple days dedicated to field excursions.
Activities are led by Northeastern graduate students and supported by undergraduate science and engineering students.

Eligibility:
- Students must be living in and/or attending school in Boston.
- Female students only.
- Students Entering 7th-8th grades the fall following the program are eligible to apply. Students from any schools (public, private, etc) are eligible.
- Students must turn in both a paper and online application.
- Immediate family members of Northeastern University faculty may apply to the program, but are not given special preference. They must follow all eligibility rules.

- They must also fill out the online application. The online application will be sent directly to the program staff upon completion.
- Incomplete applications at the deadline will not be reviewed. A reminder email will be sent out to all applicants who have completed the online application, but are missing the paper component one week before the March 31st deadline.
- Students will be emailed with decisions by the end of April, 2017.
