Mass Mentoring Partnership invites you to apply for a grant through the 2014- 2015, James G. Connolly Tribute Fund (Connolly Fund). The Connolly Fund was established in memory of Jim Connolly, Mass Mentoring Partnership’s board chair who passed away in 2010, in honor of his leadership and volunteer service to Mass Mentoring Partnership. The fund was created to provide support for an annual award or project aligned with Mass Mentoring Partnership’s mission of expanding quality youth mentoring across Massachusetts. Potential focus areas are determined each year through a staff assessment of gaps in mentoring and final selection by MMP’s board and the Connolly Family.
This year MMP will make up to four grant awards totaling $25,000 to mentoring programs or youth serving organizations that will develop and or expand existing mentoring programs that support youth in one or more of the following communities: Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan and / or communities on Cape Cod and the Islands. These programs must be able to document an increased number of young people having access to a mentoring relationship and report the outcomes of those relationships.
To be considered, programs must complete the attached application by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014. Programs must also attend MMP’s Connolly Award Gala on October 14th, 2014, where they will be recognized as awardees during the program. Please be sure to read through the entire Request for Proposals that is below, as it provides detailed information on program eligibility and application deadlines. MMP will hold a technical assistance webinar on August 5th at 10:00 am, where MMP staff will provide an overview of the funding opportunity and be available to answer questions.
