On Saturday March 7th the Boston Public Schools will host the 2015 Citywide Science Fair, held at Northeastern University in collaboration with Science From Scientists and the Center for STEM Education. On behalf of the students of BPS, we would like to invite you to participate again as a Judge for the Fair this year, and hope that you will be able to join us!
Judging will take place from 9 am – 12 pm, followed by a luncheon for all judges. The exhibits will be on display for public viewing between 1:30 – 2:45 pm, followed promptly by the awards ceremony.
If you are able to participate, please sign up to be a Judge here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2015BPSFair
Putting a Focus on Science is a major goal of the Boston Public Schools. We want all students to be scientifically literate and to develop an understanding of fundamental science concepts. Each year the Science Fair provides an opportunity for students to “do” science. As the students prepare for the Fair, they not only learn important science concepts but they also learn how scientists investigate the world.
The Boston Public Schools Science Department in collaboration with Science from Scientists, and Northeastern University’s Center for STEM Education invite you to be a Judge at the Fair. Last year, thousands of students across the city participated in their school fair, and the “best of the best” were invited to display their exhibits at the Citywide Science Fair. We had over three hundred outstanding exhibits displayed at last year’s Science Fair, representing students from many of our high schools and middle schools.
We hope you can join us! The BPS students appreciate the support your presence provides, and we hope that you will enjoy meeting some of the City’s finest students. We will be honored if you can join us for the day. Parking vouchers will be distributed as you leave the Science Fair for use in the Renaissance Garage.
Registration is required for judges – please sign up here! We look forward to seeing you at the fair!
Sincerely,
– 2015 Science Fair Team
